Above the Noise
Above the Noise, features transcribed bird calls woven together with imagery to create tangible scores.
Above the Noise offers a reprieve from what tethers us … whether personal grief, regret, or fear of the unknown - honoring these moments, moving toward levity and joy.
Music itself becomes the subject that drifts and takes shape. This work invites viewers to pause and to float above the noise … you’ve held on too tight and for too long. It’s time to listen and let go …
Kanozik’s practice continues a lineage of artists and composers who have merged sound and image, from Messiaen’s birdsong notations to Kandinsky and Scriabin’s color-sound experiments. Trained as a conductor and composer, he translates the fleeting qualities of music into visual forms through watercolor, ink, and experimental scores. What began as a focus on listening and transcription has expanded into explorations of larger systems, from bird calls drifting across a page to interactive installations that invite audiences to engage with sound, and color.
